I recently received a very well made and designed folder from a new company called Tesseract Tactical.
It’s a handsome EDC folder that has a stoutness that allows it to flex into harder use applications.
The design is subtle but sophisticated. The S35VN Sheepsfoot flipper blade drops shut into this G10 liner lock handle… just like a Kizer, the company I surmise OEMed this knife. (Full review on the way)
What is interesting to me about this knife is a friend’s perception of it… the one ding I had against the knife, was a positive to him.
In my opinion, they could have done a little weight reduction by milling out the liners, but to my buddy (a fledgling knife junkie), the weight and the “solidity’ of the knife is what sold him on it.
Like a parent does when raising a child, I saw the knife through his more “innocent” eyes and began to appreciate the knife as he did.
The weight does add to the feeling of solidity and therefore, quality, as this is obviously not a heavy hunk ‘o junk.
When I asked my friend how much he thought the Tesseract NF1 cost, he guessed correctly.
“Feels like a $200 knife…” Guess he’s right!
