Hello fellow knife junkie! How are you this Thursday, June 2, which happens to be National Bubba Day and National Moonshine Day. Hope you have a great day!!
Blade Show 2022 in Atlanta starts tomorrow. And as you know, work got in the way of my travel plans this year, so unlike last year when I drove down (from Virginia), this year I’ll be flying, arriving late Friday night and leaving Sunday.
So that means only a day-and-a-half to see all the knives and friends — so little time for sure! But that also means I can’t carry my treasure trove of knives like I did last year. I’m a little nervous to pack expensive knives in my suitcase.
As I noted in this week’s show (episode 321) titled “Great Folders Under $100,” I’m going to try and carry only one knife to Blade. But which one will I carry?
I’ll be dropping a video this afternoon announcing my carry — along with the news that there will NOT be a “Thursday Night Knives” tonight. I just can’t pull it off as I’m getting ready to travel and have some work stuff I need to take care of. If, however, you really need a “fix,” you can catch some of the past shows on our YouTube channel.
Anyway, in case you missed this week’s mid-week supplemental podcast that went live yesterday, check out the video below. And hopefully you’re subscribed to the audio podcast. Check out the links to the popular podcast apps at the end of the newsletter and follow The Knife Junkie so you can listen in the car, while doing yard work, etc.
In case you’ve missed some of the past podcasts, here’s a few of the highlights:
This past Sunday’s interview show with Brian James Kim of Transparent Knives (Episode 320) was full of intrigue and “knife drama.”
Episode 319 — “If You Only Had One Fixed Blade”
Episode 318 — my interview with Chris Rossiter of Renegade EDC and Renegade Provisions Co. If you missed this one, go check it out. Chris is a multi-talented guy doing lots of cool stuff.
And Episode 316 with Blade Show 2022 Director Alicia Newton. If you’re heading to Blade, be sure to watch/listen to this one to get you in the mood!
Featured Knife
Spyderco Lil' Native Slipjoint
This is the slipjoint version of the Lil’ Native, a modern folder that offers solid grip in a compact design. The non-locking slipjoint mechanism is easy to operate and makes this legal to carry for Spyderco fans from many parts of the globe.
* This is an affiliate link. That means The Knife Junkie channel earns a small commission from the sale, but it does NOT increase the price you pay!
Alright guys and gals… I think that’s enough for today.
If you’re heading to Blade this year, let’s meet-up. Email me and maybe we can find a time to meet in person, whether on the show floor or perhaps in the Pit either Friday night or Saturday night.
Have a great day knife junkie!
