Parting is such sweet sorrow… or is it?
A patron and friend of the channel overseas recently bought a Son of Sam, designed by Tashi Bharucha and made by Mechforce, and had it shipped to me to check out before receiving it himself.
Very generous and trusting as this is an expensive and exclusive.
I have always loved Tashi’s designs—they are sophisticated and elegant, and at the same time, aggressive and menacing.
The Son of Sam boasts Tashi’s most signature design features: organic and ergonomic handle with sculptural elements, low-profile flipper tab, and a compound-ground recurve tanto(?). Mechforce built this beauty with precision and care, resulting in a highly refined and robust modern folder—it is absolute state-of-the-art.
But like any proud but tired uncle, I am ready to give this baby over to its father.
Sometimes when I have knife loaners that are too appealing to me
I find myself hardening my heart.
Not picking it up much, not examining them too closely, for fear of glancing that which I desire but cannot have. The heartbreak of unrequited love.
Thank you for the Son of Sam loaner (you know who you are), it’s been real, but it’s time to ramble on and find adventure overseas.
A fond farewell.
