As I lay in bed the other night listening to my wife’s soft, rhythmic breathing, readying for sleep myself, I took one last guilty peek at YouTube and caught a video on the new Civivi Mini Praxis. I was taken immediately — like — I must have that in my life … but why?
I know myself well enough to understand that even if I had it, it would not be a carry knife for me. It’s too small for that.
That is my problem (one of many?) — I love small knives, but not for carry.
So how can I justify spending, even (only) $30 bucks, the paltry sum the Mini Praxis goes for? Well, my justification was laying next to me, unknowingly giving me the excuse to bring the Mini Praxis into my — nay — into our lives — nay — our life. Two hearts beat as one, what’s mine is yours and all that.
So I dropped it in my cart, black D2 blade forest green G10 handles, a handsome combo. My wife likes handsome things and it’ll fit her hands and her tiny pockets.
Done! As my finger hovered over the Place Your Order button — swelling up with pride at how thoughtful I am for this random gift — I decided I should get a little something for myself, after all, I deserve it and I can get content out of it for the podcast.
The Sencut Watauga will be featured in my “State of the Collection” on Wednesday’s mid-week supplemental podcast. Patrons get early access to the show tomorrow.
Before the better angels of my nature could catch up, I dropped the Sencut Watauga (pictured above) in the cart and hit the button.
Too late to stop it now ... time for bed. Junkie out.
