Bob Terzuola's Next Masterpiece: The Fox Knives Italy Pacifico Revealed
Get a sneak peek at two breathtaking pre-release folders from Fox Knives Italy, designed by the legendary Bob Terzuola.
I just received two absolute bangers from a legend. They are not mine to keep, but they are mine to check out and show you.
The manufacturer is Fox Knives Italy, makers of premium fixed-blade knives for camp and combat and folders of all ilk. These are folders, and they are designs from the great and powerful Bob Terzuola, the Godfather of the tactical folder.
The knives I have on loan are pre-release copies of a big and luxurious flipper design called the Pacifico—one with a Magnacut blade and marble carbon fiber handle, the other with a Thor pattern Damasteel blade with Black Camo Fat Carbon.
The blade of this design is a 3.75" long single-edge dagger grind with a fuller running down the medial ridge, and sharp as the day is long, at the edge and the point. The blade rockets out of the slender and neutral handle on bearings, and once disengaging the easily accessible liner lock, it returns smooth as silk back to its home.
The sculpted titanium pocket clip is of the typical shape and length seen on most of Bob T's folders. The overall package is 100% Terzuola design.
The idea of loaning me these knives came to Bob while I appeared on his wife Suz's podcast called The Knife Wife.
Suz is a dynamic and charming lady who now, after years working in the Hollywood film industry and living in the knife world, is embarking on an encore career as a standup comedian. I have no doubt she will see success in this venture and that Bob will see success with this new knife design, the Pacifico.
I am not sure what the MSRP will be, but I can tell you for sure that this will be one to save up for; I for one, have already begun!
Knife Junkie Out!
Rolando Garcia III, Founder of Rolando Estocada: The Knife Junkie Podcast (episode 585)
In our latest podcast episode, we welcomed back Rolando Estocada, a master of Filipino martial arts and serious knife collector, who shared profound insights about the intersection of knife collecting and martial training.
Rolando has developed what he calls a “philosophy of use”—a framework that guides his knife acquisitions based on how each blade contributes to his growth as both a collector and martial artist. This thoughtful approach has helped him move beyond the initial “acquisition phase” that many collectors experience to develop a collection with genuine purpose and meaning.
What makes Rolando’s perspective unique is his ability to analyze knife designs through multiple lenses. Whether discussing the biomechanical advantages of Bill Bagwell’s Bowie designs or the deliberate action required by a Buck 110 folder, he connects each design feature to practical application.
“Ultimately, what is Rolando Estocada’s philosophy of use?” he asked during the podcast. “The question is, how is it making me a more informed knife collector, but also a better martial artist? Those are the two primary criteria.”
